Match of the Day Essay Match of the day is a sports programme which shows the highlights from the current days premiership football. However before the programme is shown live, it is necessary for research to have been taken place beforehand. The research team on a programme like match of the day will be quite large. We know his as it may seem like not a lot of information is needed to be researched but in fact there is. On the rolling credits at the end of my captured match of the day episode it doesnt state the researchers. The reasons why this could be is that there are too many to name and it will be easier for them to put them in production team listing. You then also have runners on the show. The runners name is basically self explanatory about what they will do. They run around getting any last minute items. This could range from a cable extension to some tape or even an extra seat. The researchers need to be people who are determined. They need to be determined as they need to get the good interesting information about their teams. They also need to be well organised, they need to have a schedule about how and when they are going to gain information and this is good time organisation as well. The amount of researchers in MOTD is not clear by the credits however I would like to have a rough guess at about 8 researchers in my episode. To justify this prediction I think that for every highlighted game for the episode there will be one researcher. This means that seen as though there is 8 games of highlighted football on MOTD for that days programme, there will have been 8 researchers. Each researcher will have slightly different researching techniques but they all need to seek out the information one way or another. The sort of information which the researchers will have to look for are individual records, (i.e. if a player is only 3 goals away from reaching 100 goals or to be the clubs highest goal scorer) club records, (i.e. if they win this game it will break the clubs record for most consecutive victories) latest news of the club (i.e. takeover news) and they would have to look up any interesting facts about the teams playing one another (i.e. if a team hasnt beaten the opposition in so many years). The research which is obtained is used by both the presenters (Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Mark Lawrenson) which either introducing the game or when analysing the game once the highlights have been watched. However it is not just the presenters who need the information, it is also needed by the directors, the producers and graphics team. The directors and producers need the research in order to see what interesting stories they can insert into the programme. The graphics team need the research in order to get the research ready in case it is to go on the programme, listing the research for the viewers. Recce A recce would have to be done before the live broadcast of match of the day. A recce is where they will look at the studio and work out how much daylight is going to come in, where the plugs are and where all the equipment is going to go. They will sketch the layout of the studio and sketch in where all the equipment will go in the room. They will have multiple cameras in the studio along with the chairs and table of the presenters. Schedules Schedules are an important part of research as I stated before. A schedule is needed for every part of the programme/production. A researcher needs a schedule in order to get all the information they need in only a short period of time. If the researchers do not have a schedule and negligently dont get some research which is needed then the show maybe wont run as smoothly and may even lose some of its audience figures. Also if the researcher doesnt have a schedule and does get something wrong then it can push all the other parts of the production backwards. This can be a problem for the whole show seen as though it is on at more or less the sae time every week. Research Time Research time for match of the day is very strict. During the football season match of the day is on every Saturday at around the same time. This means that it only gives the researchers a week in order to get all the information they need. Researchers will be given a brief of everything which the show needs. This however will only be brief and the researcher will have to use their own common knowledge to know that more information is needed. They may have to look in newspapers for stories about the clubs and do extra work in order to help the show. Seen as though there is not enough time for new researchers to learn the trade by themselves and be taught by another researcher they will tag along with an experienced researcher taking in everything which they need to find and where to find it from. The reason why they will not get very good training is because there simply is not enough time. They could get another researcher in to teach them but this will run up more budget costs. For every week they will look through the database and get all the information they can. After some experience in the job it will become quite routine. They will know exactly where to look in the database and some researchers will also already know some of the stats which they need before they even go and search for them. Also some stats could also go on from one weekend onto another if a certain player is only one goal away from breaking a record.

A Personal Development Plan of a student in the UK

A Personal Development Plan of a student in the UK After successfully gained admission to study for my doctoral programme at Greenwich School of Management London (GSML) one of the recognised institutions in the United Kingdom (UK). I have set up a Personal Development Plan (PDP) that will improve my personal and professional Skills which are required in meeting organisational and my personal goals. If the PDP is well implemented and well monitored; it should help to improve and develop new skills that will tackle problems associated with my research topic, improve my communication skills and to make a good value judgment, improve my leadership and managerial skills, and improve skills that will meet future challenges and enhance employment opportunities. When planning my PDP, I allowed objectivity to prevail in assessing my skills which helps me to come up with clear personal skills audit and then developed a simple action plan. It also helps me to identify my true nature of learning style. The PDP was reviewed on regular basis to reflect on my personal development needs and then assessed the progress that I have achieved to date by comparing it with target goals. The PDP was divided into three phases; short, medium and long term goals so that I can easily evaluate the extent to which I develop my personal skills and achieved my goals. What is Personal Development Plan (PDP)? PDP is a process of writing a short clear plan that sketches out a persons plan probably for a year in order to assess (strength and weakness), to develop skills that require development and to evaluate progress in line with targeted goals. For PDP to be effective, it must meet personal development cycle: state the purpose for development; perform personal skills audit to identify the areas (skills) that need development; formulate action plan that cover the needed skills; record and monitor all the activities involve; and review and evaluate the progress in line with targeted goals. PERSONAL SKILLS AUDIT Personal skills audit is a process of sincere identification and evaluation of someones strengths, weaknesses and areas for development. The outcomes of my personal skills audit are stated below: Computer application skills Information seeking skills Communication skills (verbal and writing skills) Numerical and Analytical skills Selecting and Training the necessary staff Stress management skills Teamwork skills Decision taking skills Organisation management After conducting the personal skills audit, I was able to recognise my strengths, weakness and areas that need more attention. I have decided to close the learning gap through critical action plan. The action plan grid below was designed purposely to know more about my skills and develop myself for future challenges that will help me too in tackle problems associated with my doctoral studies and enhance my employment opportunity. Many Educationists realized that we learn in different ways and we are able to assimilate information and respond to training base on our learning style. One widely acceptable categorization of different learning styles is that provided by Honey and Mumford which identify four different characters with quite different preferred learning styles; the Activist, the Pragmatist, the Reflector and the Theorist. Diagnostic tests exist to establish which learning style is most appropriate for us and to help us develop an action plan to develop our learning skills. After passing through the four learning style tests, I realized that I am pragmatic in nature-Pragmatist but also have some instinct of Activist in my approach to life. Definitions and descriptors of the Pragmatist were stated below: Definition Descriptors Pragmatist A pragmatist is a practical person who likes to solve problems. They enjoy experimenting to improve techniques. They frequently come up with the answer to a problem. Their only interest in theories is to be seen if they work in practice. They dislike situations where there is no clear, practical come. My Personal Development Plan (PDP) Short-Term Personal Development Plan It is a short-term personal development plan because it covers plan and goals that can be achieved within one year or less. This is my short-term plan and objectives: To acquire good leadership skills training To acquire more communication skills training (both writing and verbal) To acquire good team relationship within the organisation To develop good decision-making skills Target completion: from August 30, 2008 to June 30, 2009 In short-term plan, I will move back to Ireland to continue working for Lidl Ireland GmbH and then apply for Internal Vacancy Opportunity (Supervisor) that encourages staff to move up within the organisation. My MBA degree will open many chances within the organisation. I will like to start from Supervising but my target is Store Manager. Within this period as a Supervisor in my Store, I will use all avenues to acquire the above listed skills which are very easy to achieve because of my new role in the stores. As a supervisor, I will be attending variety of leadership trainings which will help me to acquire good leadership skills for myself and also useful to the organisation because I will be able to carry out my duty effectively. This new role will help me to improve in my communication skills (both in writing and verbal skills). As a supervisor, I will be writing reports on daily activities during work shift and also improve my verbal communication skills because the position will give me much opportunity to communicate with many people (colleagues and customers). Supervising role will help me to acquire good team relationship skills and ability to make good decisions. At the end of June 30, 2009, I should be able to meet all my targets and then evaluate the skills acquired if it meets the expected level. Medium-Term Personal Development Plan This plan is to consolidate on my previous objectives and achievements. It will serves as roll over which cover the gap in short-term success after critical skills audit. The medium-term personal development plan focus more on professional skills and it includes the followings; Ability to support others Ability to inspire and motivate staff/colleagues Ability to delegate responsibilities and monitor it Ability to analyse information and make good decision and recommendation Ability to write reports Within this stage of my plan, I should be able to apply for Store Manager Position in one of the stores own by Lidl Group after a critical personal skills audit. I should be able to display that I am competent to Stand Out at assessment centre and display a good leadership skills. My qualifications and experience and training acquired during my MBA programme will contribute to my success. At the end of this stage, I should be able to demonstrate all the abilities mentioned above (including the short-term development plan). The issue of Work Permit will be solved at the stage because the Company will be willing to retain me base on the experience have acquired. Lidl will not like to lose any of their staff that has been added as a part of their Assets. The position of Store Manager also provides opportunity for me to earn up to salary that is required as a prerequisite to Work Permit. Target completion: Dec 31, 2011 (this include the short-term development plan) Long-Term Personal Development Plan Since my long-term development plan is to be a Store Manager which will give the opportunity to achieve the ultimate goals of becoming the District Manager. Before the end of 2013 all the goals/objectives must be accomplished without any detriment to organisational goals. I must be able to achieve the followings; Display leadership skills that will be helpful in motivating, leading and supporting colleagues. Apply good communication skills that enhance decision making, analysing situation and problem, and writing reports for the organisation that provide constructive feedback on ideas to team and individual. Display skills that develop trust and confidence in the mind of people and help me to handle many responsibilities. I will make sure that all these goals are review annually with objective mind and check if each goal has been achieved at the expected (target completion) date. It will take four years to accomplish these tasks without becoming too overwhelming or distant. I drafted this PDP to be useful as a career plan so that I can use it as a process for carrying out an in-year assessment of my strengths, weaknesses, and development needs. Habits that need to be value for Future Purpose I have developed some useful habits that will be useful to my future learning which are clearly spelled out and they are very simple to be inculcated into my day to day activities to achieve best results in all my endeavors. These following habits were developed: Use training activities constructively. After each training course, I will try to note answers to the following questions; What did I learn? What skills were gained? What will I do differently as a result of this learning? When will I have an opportunity to practice these new skills or put my new knowledge into practice? Keep a Reflective Diary. This diary will help me to think about my experiences and feelings as I try to develop and put new skills into practice. It will help me to produce evidence of new skills and approaches at work. This diary shows absolute honest of how I feel. Maintain a portfolio. I will keep all copies of any records that identify my development activities and achievement such as; certificate s from courses attended any email or notes from colleagues who demonstrate my skills in relevant areas, and my personal development plan. Conclusion, my Personal Development Plan was designed in a way that it is simple, specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely target. The PDP can be meaningful if objectivity takes its course. I have tried to be honest in my PDP not to be overwhelmed with unrealistic target but with determination, commitment and prayer all these goals can be achieved. Examine the way that the two scenes from the Sixth Sense are presented

The intriguing supernatural thriller, Sixth Sense, combines a mixture of honesty and deception to create a film which is renowned as having one of the most unpredictable and satisfying endings, at least in recent cinema. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan, the film reveals the tortured existence of Cole, a very unique little boy, cursed with a unique but sinister gift, a sixth sense - the ability to see the dead. Haunted by these apparitions since birth and unable to share his troubles for fear of suspicion of his insanity, Cole struggles under the burden of his gift, leaving him disturbed and isolated from those around him until the more obvious signs of his mental turmoil begin to appear in his behaviour. However, shortly after a violent attack on a successful child psychologist, his life unexpectedly takes a turn for the better in the form of disheartened psychologist Dr Crowe, who conveniently appears on the scene. After developing a trusting repor between himself and Cole, Dr Crowe is able assist Cole in overcoming his terrifying haunting by the restless souls of the dead, in what initially occurs as the conclusion But after being comfortable in the knowledge that we too are aware of all the factors in play (through the dramatic irony in which all characters but ourselves and Dr Crowe are unaware of Cole's gift) the audience is again plunged into uncertainty as the plot truly culminates in a dramatic twist, in which it is uncovered, that, perversely, Dr Crowe is himself a lingering soul from beyond the grave. In a film in which the plot is based almost entirely on our own assumptions, the Director has ingeniously crafted body language, facial expression and the specific use of particular camera shots and angles to create the vi... ...iences in the film. Characteristics such as being invisible, unheard and being unable to communicate are simply not apparent in Dr Crowe. Techniques including the use of specific camera angles and shots, body language and facial expression are used not only to manipulate the audience to believe that he visible etc, but also to create empathy and understanding with the character, so that he is trusted implicitly and the audience will accept at ?face value? his existence because he is so close to humanity, especially in comparison to other ghosts within the film. Throughout the audience is given only a snapshot of the bigger picture and only from the particular angle that the Director wishes them to view it from and it is this ability to manipulate the perceptions and feelings of the audience that make such a deception possible.

If you were alive 30 years ago you probably can recall those Friday nights when you were sitting in front of the television set during prime time watching a widowed mother and her five children who charmed America and broke a generation gap with their groovy, bubble gum sounding tunes. You probably would also know that "The Partridge Family," with its something for everyone cast and groovy tunes, took over America as an instant success in the fall of 1970.The Partridge Family was the 70s successor to the Monkees who were a mid 60s hit. Both the Monkees and the Partridge Family were fictional rock/pop bands produced by a television branch of Columbia Pictures called Screen Gems, but unlike the Monkees, the Partridge Family strictly was about wholesome and traditional family values. (UBL.com)The famous cast included screen and stage veteran Shirley Jones who played the mother, Shirley Partridge. Shirley Jones had been in numerous plays and movies including Rodgers and Hammerstien’s "Oklahoma!", "The Music Man", "The Big Slide", and the 1960 film version of Elmer Gantry which won her an Academy Award for her role as a prostitute. In 1956, Shirley Jones married actor Jack Cassidy who was the father of her future co-star David Cassidy. Born April 12, 1950 in New York City, David Cassidy grew up in the show business atmosphere with both his father and mother being avid performers. After he graduated from Rexford, a private school in Beverly Hills, he worked with the Los Angeles Theater Group and was featured in the Los Angeles theater production of "And so to Bed" (members.tripod.com). After that he moved to New York and back to Los Angeles while starring in several plays and TV shows including "Mod Squad" and "Bonanza", but David Cassidy didn’t get his big break until he returned to his first love, music, when he was cast as Keith Partridge. Other cast members who played Partridge siblings included Susan Dey, a popular New York fashion model who played Laurie Partridge, and the red headed and freckled Danny Bonaduce who played Danny Partridge and to many people’s surprise actually came from an 100 percent Italian background (The Partridge Family Deluxe Souvenir Album). The youngest partridges as you may know were Chris and Tracy. Chris was first played by Jeremy Gelbwaks during the first season, but his parents soon became uncomfortable about his acting with the mania that surrounded the show and took their son out of the cast.

Verbal communication is communicating a message verbally to whoever is receiving the message. An advantage of verbal communication is the opportunity for immediate feedback to make sure the message was understood. Another advantage is the opportunity to utilize nonverbal cues (tone, body language, inflection). These can apply to Barclays because it’s important for Barclays to receive immediate feedback which they can go on and improve on the Business. Also, Barclays will understand the message that is being given verbally even more clear because they’ll understand the body language of the person that is giving the message. A disadvantage of verbal communication is that the communication or message that was put across is not recorded (unless a video camera is used), this means that if there are any types of miscommunication such as an employee getting rude to a customer, there’s a high possibility that it won’t be recalled again. Another disadvantage of verbal communication is that it is harder to communicate around the world. These apply to Barclays because Barclays has to make sure that there verbal communication towards customers or employees are made clear meaning that they would have to outcome the disadvantage. Also, Barclays has many customers/employees around the world, this means that this is a disadvantage to them as it would be harder to communicate seeing as customers in other countries would be speaking a different language, meaning that Barclays would have to come up with a solution in order to ease verbal communication around the world. Written Communication Written communication means communication by means of written symbols either printed or handwritten. Advantages of written communication are that it is more accurate (errors can be corrected or content approved). Another advantage is that a physical record of the communication is made. These can apply to Barclays because Barclays has to make sure that their communication is as clear as it gets for their terms & conditions pages, and written communication makes this easy for them as there is a high possibility that they won’t make mistakes. Another way these benefit Barclays is that when there is written communication made, there is a physical record of the communication meaning that there won’t be any mistakes in communication between the employees and customers, also customers can refer back to these  communications. A disadvantage of written communication is that written communication takes more time and is more expensive to prepare because of printing letters about outstanding loan payments which leads to higher costs because of the printing and stamps to send these letters. Also, another disadvantage is that there aren’t any types of immediate feedback. These can apply to Barclays because Barclays rely on time and don’t have much of it which means that they have to decrease the amount of written communication. Barclays mostly rely on feedback, with written communication there isn’t immediate feedback meaning that this would be a disadvantage for Barclays. Multi-media/ On-screen Information Multi-media/ On-screen Information is media on new technologies such as text messaging. This can apply to many companies in today’s society. An advantage of Multi-media communication is that the information can be spread to a lot of people at one time. This applies to Barclays because they usually have many meetings, and in them meetings they can use a projector showing a presentation which allows all members in the meeting so see. Another advantage of Multi-media communication is that it’s cheaper to use. This applies to companies like Barclays, instead of Barclays sending information via a paper based system which costs more; they can distribute information to their customers through multimedia communication. A disadvantage of multimedia communication is that many of the elderly in today’s society may not know how to work and understand the technologies used in today’s society. This applies to Barclays because Barclays may use text messaging to their customers and some of their customers may be elderly people. Another disadvantage is that not all people in the world have access to multimedia communication. This applies to Barclays because Barclays now provide services of online banking, and text messaging to their customers, however not all of their customers may have access to multimedia communication meaning that Barclays would still have to use a paper based system for some of their customers which leads to more expenses seeing as it is expensive to maintain. Web-based Information Web-based information shows many benefits of multimedia technology. With the  fast broadband connections in today’s society, it is possible to stream sophisticated content to a computer anywhere in the world. A significant amount of interactive multimedia content is now delivered via the internet through web-sites such as www.barclays.co.uk. This is an advantage for many people and businesses as the information can be received and read wherever and whenever it is convenient for the person/business. This applies to Barclays because they can send information to their employees from anywhere which can be read by the employee at any given time. Another advantage of web-based information is that it is easier to distribute information through it. This applies to Barclays because if Barclays is to have a change into how the business operates and needs to inform their employees, they can easily distribute the information on the web to their employees. A disadvantage of web-based information is that not everyone can access the web. This applies to Barclays because Barclay’s employees may need some information from Barclays on any new information or changes to Barclays, however some of employees may not have access to web based information meaning that Barclays will have to distribute information through paper based information. Another disadvantage of web-based information is that it can be led to misinterpretation. This applies to Barclays because if information is distributed to customers/employees, because it’s through a web based service, the customers or employees may not understand it properly. One other disadvantage is that if the systems of Barclays crashes, it could mean that customers would not be able to access the website. This leads to unpleasant customers whom may write complaints to Barclays. Internal Sources of Information Internal sources of information are those which can give valuable information regarding the organization from within. For example, a business like Barclays can give new employees an insight of information regarding how the business operates. An advantage of internal source is that the information is most likely to be accurate because the source of the information is from within the company its-self which is reliable. Another advantage of internal source of information is that it can be shared amongst other departments and created analysed by experts with in that type of field. For example, financial reports are created and analysed. Disadvantages of internal  sources of information are that it can be costly to produce, for example many people are employed on a specific job to just collect and analyse data. This means that this could actually be cheaper for external companies to do it for them instead. External Sources of Information External sources of information is secondary research, for example if a business like Barclays wanted to find out information about one of their competitors such as Santander, but Santander doesn’t want to pass any information out to Barclays, Barclays would then ask a different organisation to collect as much information about Santander. Pros of secondary research is that the information already exists meaning that this will save time. Another pro is that it is usually cheaper to get secondary research instead of primary research which will save company money. Cons of secondary research are that in some cases, it is usually expensive as well (scanner data). You may have less control over how the data was collected. With secondary research, there could also be biases in the data that you don’t know about. Also another con of this is that the answers may not exactly fit in your research questions. This applies to Barclays because if Barclays was to require information ab out their competitors, they’d refer back to a different organisation to find this information out.

Practicum Narrative Report

-A â€Å"ONE-STEP HIGHER† AT MAX'S RESTAURANT, QUEZON AVE. ,QUEZON CITY- I am very happy that I had my practicum at Max's Restaurant, Quezon Avenue. Being part of the lovable people of Max's is really great and it was very memorable for me. I applied at Max's through online so I was surprised that it only took me one day waiting for their confirmation if I'm hired or not but thanks God- it's positive. 🙂 Specifically, I applied for CSA (Customer Sevice Attendant) for I know that it could really improve me as a person and of course, to improve my skill and knowledge as an HRM student.On the first day, Mam Rizza who is our good and patient trainer taught a small background/ history of Max's Restaurant. We learned that it started since 1945when Maximo Gimenez Gimenez decided to open a cafe which served chicken, steak, and drinks. He was joined by his wife Mercedes, sister-in-law Felipa Serrano Sanvictores, his niece Ruby who managed the kitchen, and her husband Claro. Aft er that, they were encouraged to expand the menu and serve more Filipino food. Max's Restaurant bills itself as â€Å"The house that fried chicken built†.Max's Restaurant currently has over 127 branches in the Philippines and has opened branches internationnally. After the first orientation, we're on the second part which is the Menu Familiarization which is quite difficult for those who are not good in memorization. Honestly, at first, I got confused with the product codes and descriptions of every food item but thanks to Mam Rizza for being knowledgeable and proactive teacher to us. After this, she also taught the different wares used for soups/ salads, main course, side dishes, desserts and beverage glasses.After discussion, Mam Rizza gave us many activities (by group) to promote friendship and camaraderie among us. So, its so really nice because all of us feel that we are one big family. After this, Mam Rizza gave us our long quiz for the preparation on the actual examina tion. Finally, I passed the examination. 🙂 The third part of the orientation is all about the Dining Training Program which is also the last part of our orientation program. This program composed of 2 parts. First part was all about the service quality, customer needs, etiquettes, do's ; don'ts and rewards of excellent service.To summarize, this is more on the service quality and the etiquettes of a service personnel. We have learned the different principles and rules followed at Max's. Mam Rizza discussed to us the customer's need for us to understand who are the guests? and what are their needs as a guest? Next is the 7 deadly sins that pertains to things or actions to avoid while on duty and last is the rewards of excellent service. Overall, Mam Rizza gave us the motivation for us to be a lovable people of Max's by giving our excellent and â€Å"TODO BIGAY SERVICE† to all the guests.Additionally, Mam Rizza always reminds us that GOOD ATTITUDE AND CHARACTER IS A MU ST! Second part was all about the â€Å"Sectionalization† which implies the knowing and understanding the responsibilities of each service personnel (greeter, seater/rover, ordertaker, waiter and servers). We learned the first rule: â€Å"No guest is left unattended and all stations are manned at all times. † The dining sequence composed of 7 parts. Starting from the greeting the guests, leading them to their tables, presenting menu and removing extra settings.These first 4 actions should be done with a big smile and care making the guests feel that they are welcome and at home. Next will be the order taking, suggestive selling, repeating orders and punching orders. On this stage, presence of mind is really needed because you have to entertain all the questions of the guests and you have to get the orders of the guests correctly that's why repeating orders is very important. Same on the first stage, a big smile and care for every guest. Ooopsss†¦ Don't forget to t ake the name of the guest and introduce yourself to them.The third stage includes the serving of food and drinks. The fourth step includes the first check back, (done to check the satisfaction of guests by asking how is the food? ), suggestive selling for desserts or coffee and partial bussing. Fifth step includes the presenting the bill if it is asked by the guest. This should be done politely with a smile. After receiving payment, sixth step include the presenting of change and saying â€Å"Thank you for dining Sir/ Mam†. The last step (7th) includes thanking the guests and inviting them again to come again. Part of the 7 sequence is the time standards.These time standards are the preparation time for each food item. It's very important to know this to inform the guests if how longer they will wait for their food. For salads/ soups and side orders (5 mins. ); ruby's favorites (15 mins. ); fried chicken (20 mins. ) rice/ drinks except fruit shakes (3 mins), combo meals (10 m ins. ) and desserts (5-10 mins. ). Lastly, we discussed the suggested script for the guests while communicating with but the most important is the four magic words: Excuse me, Thank you, My pleasure and Certainly Mam/ Sir. After the discussion, we had our last examination.And again, I passed it. 🙂 Thanks be to Mam Rizza, to my classmates and to God who helped all of us to fulfill and finish this orientation. November 26, 2012- first day of my duty at Max's Restaurant, Quezon Avenue. My supervisors (Sir Jon and Sir Tom) gave me a short review about the table set- up and seat numbering (1 o'clock position). They also taught me the three function rooms they have- Claro, Ruby and Maximo Hall. But before that, I met my co- CSA's who I considered as my Kuya and Ate. On my first week, I am the greeter. As a greeter, I have to be a person who always smiles, having a welcoming spirit.At first, it seems that it's the easiest responsibility of a CSA. Yeah, it is true but sometimes cru cial when there are no CSA at the stations who will assist the guests. If that so, I have to quickly assist them to their preferred tables and go back again to the doors as fast as I can to accommodate the next guests who will enter at the door. As time goes by, it became my lifestyle whenever I saw people, I learned to smile and greet them politely. I also learned how to socialize with different types of persons. On my second week, I was assigned at station 3 (tables 21-24).At first, I am excited but the tension was really there. I did some mistakes such as not repeating orders clearly to the guests, wrong orders, forgot to suggest soups/ salads and carelessness the way I serve food/ drinks. These are my common mistakes during my first days. But of course, on the next two weeks, I saw myself improving even though sometimes, there are little mistakes, I developed my problem-solving skills and the presence of mind was really there. Thanks God for guiding me and of course to my superv isors who always corrects me if there is something wrong.As time goes on, I really learned to socialize with my co-CSA's (Ate Rox, Ate Rose, Ate Berna, Ate Tessa (BSA), Ate Aeinah (BSA), Ate Ching, Ate Marga, Ate Sherly, Ate Shelou and Ate Bridgette). I will never forget them because they are the one who helped me and encouraged me to finish my training. 🙂 One thing I've learned is to mingle with them even though they had different attitudes and personalities. The most memorable moment during my training period is the personal visitation of my beloved instructors (Mam She and Sir Chris). I was greatly impressed with them as my coordinators because they have the time to visit us.My instructors surprised with my physical appearance (wearing my black dress uniform at Max's) and they said to me: â€Å"Babae ka na pala! † 🙂 The OJT program I had at Max's Restaurant is really good and memorable to me. I learned many things form my work and co-staffs. One thing to improve their OJT program is to let the students experience the two main departments: Dining and Kitchen, because they only allow only one department for OJT's. For those students who will be having their OJT, they have to prepare all the possible requirements as soon as possible.And, as much as possible, they need the cooperation of the coordinators. Be a good trainee when having OJT especially with the duties and responsibilities. Be cooperative and avoid absenteeism because it will be bad record for the company. If the company requires only one department, be sure that you will choose the best department where you can share your skills and interest. Lastly, give your best shot! I believe that these guidelines or codes assist researchers with their studies so that the study being performed is accurate.
