Its About Us by Alex Sierra free essay sample
Before they won ââ¬Å"The X-Factor USA,â⬠the couple made waves during their audition with their smoky, shapeshifting cover of ââ¬Å"Toxicâ⬠by Britney Spears. Alex Sierra, or Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton, return with a ensemble of songs with a sweet, strumming sound. The immediate appeal of the album is that itââ¬â¢s down-to-earth, good-natured and true. Like something homemade, you immediately have the sense itââ¬â¢s of a precious, real quality. Among a slew of open-hearted song names, they hit the ground running with ââ¬Å"Scarecrow,â⬠a lively song that veils worries about the walls we all put up in love. As the two exchange lyrics, it becomes unclear, irrelevant even, who is the ââ¬Å"scarecrowâ⬠struggling to express itself. The strength in their duo is though they are two people, their voices join into one, mirroring the otherââ¬â¢s fears, doubts, and excitement. From there, itââ¬â¢s pure adventure, like the song ââ¬Å"Here We Goâ⬠suggests, tapping and racing like a lovestruck heartbeat. We will write a custom essay sample on Its About Us by Alex Sierra or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page And while the theme of the album is generally positive, it still succeeds in communicating the complexity and nuances that make up young love. ââ¬Å"Bumper Carsâ⬠is a heartfelt ballad, with reaching, stretching arms, unable to fully meet the otherââ¬â¢s. It offers all the loneliness that can still exist in a healthy relationship. And ââ¬Å"Cheatingâ⬠is a sashay into country, asking playfully, ââ¬Å"Do you ever, do you ever, think about cheating on me?â⬠But they still keep it playful, young, and free with ââ¬Å"Just Kids,â⬠a jazzy number that affirms the albumââ¬â¢s place in pop. ââ¬Å"I Love Youâ⬠is timid but brave, sending out the dear refrain, ââ¬Å"But I love you! Now you donââ¬â¢t want me to,â⬠like a person does, declaring love out into the open. Arguably the albumââ¬â¢s most popular song, the deliberating ââ¬Å"Little Do You Knowâ⬠explores building a present with another person, when they are still haunted by their pa st. In the end, itââ¬â¢s about coming home, wherever that is, so long as itââ¬â¢s in each otherââ¬â¢s arms. ââ¬Å"Almost Homeâ⬠is nostalgic, backed by a twinkling guitar, and ââ¬Å"Back to Youâ⬠and ââ¬Å"All For Youâ⬠end the album, concluding that love, in the end, is about giving. It also shows the timelessness of duets that never lose their charm or their sweetness. One singer captures tones that compliment the other, like the eclectic couple Us the Duo, or artist husband and wife Michael and Carissa Alvarado. Alex Sierra harmonize in ways that enhance one another, and they explore that throughout the album. Alexââ¬â¢s voice is like brass, rough but tender; Sierraââ¬â¢s is like rich, warm mahogany. They succeed in sounding universal but intimate, like their love story could be yours. Itââ¬â¢s about us, all of us.

Registry of English Language and Linguistics
Question: Discuss about the Registry of English Language and Linguistics. Answer: Introduction: The dialogue between Kirsty and her mother clearly reveals the fact that a detailed interaction is going on between the mother and the daughter. The mother is highly illustrative about the various things that she is telling her daughter. The mother is careful of her choice of words and also her explanation range. This is so because she would want her daughter to have complete information about the things that the mother is talking about. Clarity of information is important for the mother as she would like her daughter to have all the right and complete information. Kirsty on the other hand did reveal some very cryptic responses. It reveals the fact that the enthusiasm of talking of Kirsty happens to be much less than what can be seen for her mother. This also exhibits the fact that often children do not take the same interest in talking to their parents as their parents take interest in talking to them. This is a basic attribute of behaviour that can be seen for the children and their parents of the current times. Often it has been seen that the parents are unable to draw the children into effective communication. This could be due to the lack of interest on the part of the child or even due to the nature of the subject or the style of communication that is followed and used by the parents. A similar thing can be seen for case of Kirsty and her mother(Zolten Long, 2000). One of the registry of languages that I would like to choose as the central concept of my study shall be that of casual conversation. This is a registry of conversation that is followed in the most different and diversified aspect of common life. This is a registry of conversation that is followed by a large number of people across the world. This is a genre of communication that happens to be much in vogue and has a lot of variation(Kolucki Lemish, 2011). Communication amongst friends, communication amongst peers of college and school, communication amongst family members, conversation amongst general members of the society, communication amongst siblings and communications amongst general strangers of the society are some of the examples of such communication continued in a prolonged situation. In such type of communication often not all participants begins their roles in the discussion at the same point of time. Many people join a long while after the initial start of the conversation. The participants gather a basic idea of the entire topic and starts contributing to the topic. They own ideas are often freely flowing. Stopping somebody from talking and putting your point first, friendly local language and cracking of irrelevant jokes is a common aspect of such types of discussion(Ephlux, 2009). This is the most important form of discussion that is followed by a large number of people across the world. People of all age groups can participate in such forms of communication. The topic can be anything and the number of participants can also be numerous. References: Ephlux. (2009, September 24). Formal and Casual Communication. Ethics & Professional Codes of Conduct-Free-Samples for Students
Question: Discuss about the application of Ethics and Professional Codes of Conduct. Answer: Introduction Self-reflection and analysis are ways and methods in which one can understand levels of knowledge and skills present(Gray, 2007). Every individual needs to understand such knowledge and skill levels such as to be able to apply them in a better more effective manner in the scope of business. the scope of the current module concentrated on ways of conduct in business focuses on a wide range of issues and dilemmas that one is exposed to. While the module is self-explanatory in nature and comparatively easier to understand yet there are a diversified range of topics that needs to be completed within a very short time span. such increasing challenges of this module has created a lot of lags in learning hence this reflection statement will help understand them(Boud, 2013). Post a critical reflection of self an action plan has been developed that will help cater to diversified challenges and issues covered in the self-reflection. the action plan will act as a recommended plan which if incor porated will help overcome the major shortcomings in various aspects in the field. thus, the aim of this reflection is focus on analyzing the various gaps existing within the individual post undertaking of this important module of this course work. In the end there are certain recommendations that needs to be undertaken that will help become a successful professional in the field. Critical Analysis The module on ways to conduct business covers various relevant and important materials in which individuals understand and develop knowledge in business field(Yang, 2009). Post undertaking lengths and breadths of this course it is possible to emerge as a knowledgeable person who is ready for employment in the business world as a successful employee for an organization. As this course has capability to develop skills and knowledge that can render professional conduct within organizations. This covers a vast range of topics encompassing professional ethics, decision making criterias and other relevant aspects that is required and applicable in organizations(Fook, 2007). I feel immensely thankful and grateful towards my University Principal for allowing me to be a part of this course. Through rigorous concept and skills developed by my University Professors there has been tremendous amounts of knowledge transfer that would not have been possible in any other way. The technique that is a dopted for covering the course requirements is unique in nature as we are provided with class handouts as well as case study analysis to apply concepts and theories into practice. I have gained tremendous knowledge inputs from this course which I will use in my future career course. However, there are certain learning and skill gap that I have diagnosed through reflection analysis which needs to be overcome(Lanxiao, 2007). Prior to taking this course I had fear of whether I would be able to comprehend the course requirements entirely and even after being through the course I have not been able to overcome this fear. This fear of me has stopped me from researching of more data and information in connection with this course. This has led me to lower levels of confidence and impact on learning as well as development. I feel I have a gap in knowledge and skill levels due to not referring to journals and other case studies that are outside the scope of this course(Kuhn, 2008). In regards to my learning in this course, though we have been taught concepts on application of ethics and professional codes of conduct, yet I feel I lack those skills. The theoretical orientation of this course has prevented me to gain knowledge in regards to understanding ways and means in which this area of knowledge is applied within businesses. Further the various decision making approaches in business by utilization of game theory and various other business principles needs to be understood in depths. I do not completely understand the ways in which business decisions are taken in various situations(Elliott, 2008). Though we have had thorough discussion pertaining to the field in class along with case studies and other related work. As there are a multiple type of theories and concepts present which are relevant while taking business decisions it sometimes becomes extremely confusing to decide on a particular course of action. Another critical and vital area of conduct in business is in regards to teamwork which has to be undertaken on a regular basis(Berings, 2009). While we are exposed to several group assignments at our University levels for understand ways in which group works and performs, yet I feel working of groups within organizations has complete separate structure. I have understanding regarding teamwork and its importance however, I feel I will lack in areas of application when I will work in a particular organization. Thus, I need to enhance my skills pertaining to teamwork exercises that helps me develop my skills and roles in team, such that I am capable of making a positive contribution to the team within organization in which I will work(Govaerts, 2010). Further, the below mentioned action plan will help me become a successful professional in the field of business by adopting detailed understanding of the course Action Plan While self-reflection help diagnose and understand the necessary areas in which I lag, it becomes essential to develop a course of action that will help overcome levels of difficulties and challenges faced(Bourguignon). I have understood regarding myself on this module by maintain a self-analytical journal, where I tracked my developed and knowledge growth from time to time. I aim to maintain this journal till I am able to overcome areas of difficulty. This journal I will update and reflect on a six month basis such that any development can easily be traced. As this course had a very limited time period within which it had to be completed hence it was nearly impossible to understand it in lengths and depths. Hence, I will undertake extensive research based approach to understand this course in a better way by resorting to our library(Huseb, 2015). Our library is well equipped with various and multiple books on this topic along with pertinent case studies of the same. I will take aid from self-help books that helps us understand various topics in a much better way. My library also has several books and journals from paste years that can highlight several challenges faced and ways in which they can be overcome. I will take guidance from my University Professor regarding my various lag areas, as he will be the best person to guide in this process(Finlay, 2008). I will take guidelines from him and practice them on a regular basis such that my learning and skill development can further be entailed. According to his guidance I will undertake learning from books and journals that he refers to. I hope such learning and resorting to such material will lift up my spirits and motivational levels and overcome my lag areas. I will further undertake extensive learning from the course materials itself and application skills in professional ethics as well as teamwork. I will view several case examples of teamwork exercises such that I am able to develop my skills in regards to myself. I will take help from my friends and colleagues for forming a closed group or a team by which I will be able to undertake team exercise. Such practices will allow me to enhance my skills at a professional level in business. When I will be employed in the industry I will be readily be able to undertake any team related exercises which will enhance my professional career. Recommendation Analysis of various facts in regards to self-reflection has revealed multiple gasp in levels of understanding. Such gasp in understanding and lack can only be overcome my means of extensive planning of a development exercise. With an action plan in place it becomes easier to achieve aims and overcome any existing lag areas. The above are certain recommendations which in case incorporated can help overcome contingencies and areas of knowledge and skill gaps. The only recommendation for overcoming the current situation is by timely execution of the action plan developed. After careful execution of the plan it is possible to overcome challenges and emerge as a successful student as well as a successful professional in the field of business. the core aim to undertake the process of self-reflection and analysis in this particular field is to become a leading professional in the field such that I can have a successful career as well. Undertaking teamwork exercises and professional ethics c odes will help me become a better professional compared to the rest in business areas. Hence, it is essential that I undertake the development and planning ways entailed. Reference Lists Berings, D. 2009. November. S Belser Essays - Libertarian Theory, John Locke, Empiricists
S Belser Human Nature and Self Government Thomas Hobbes and John Locke developed theories on human nature and how men govern themselves. Despite their differences, Hobbes and Locke, both became two of the most influential political theorists in the world. Their ideas and philosophies spread all over the world, influencing the creation of many new governments. These philosophers both recognize that people develop a social contract within their society, but have differing views on what exactly the social contract is and how it is established. Hobbes and Locke each developed differing versions of the social contract, but both agreed that certain freedoms had been surrendered for societys protection and that the government has definite responsibilities to its citizens. Both philosophers agree that before men came to govern themselves, they all existed in a state of nature. The state of nature is the condition men were in before political government came into existence, and what society would be if there was no government. Hobbes and Locke created a revolutionary idea of the state of nature. They did not believe government should be organized through the Church therefore abandoned the idea of divine right, where power of the King came directly from G-d. Starting from a clean slate, with no organized church, they needed a construct on which to build society. The foundation of society began with the original state of nature. Hobbess perception of the original state of nature is what would exist if there were no common power to execute and enforce the laws to restrain individuals. In this case, the laws of the jungle would prevail where only the strongest survive. Hobbes felt that everyone should live in peace, but you should protect yourself by all means necessary. Resources are scarce and humankind is naturally competitive. This inevitably created jealousy and hatred, eventually leading to war. This constant state of war is what Hobbes believes to be mans original state of nature. According to Hobbes, man cannot be trusted in the state of nature. Limits must be put on freedom and inalienable rights, when there is an excess of freedom and power it is easily and often abused. Hobbes lived in the 17th century, and wrote during the time of the English Civil War. I believe that his political views could have been influenced by the war. Hobbes perceived that by bringing back the monarch; there would be an end to the civil war. On the other hand, John Locke believes the original state of nature is a state of perfect freedom where men do whatever it is in their will and ability to accomplish. Every man has the liberty to arrange his life in the manner he chooses, however no man has the liberty to kill himself. Unlike Hobbes nature of constant war, Lockes state of nature is peaceful, based on the fact that men do not want to risk their lives by constantly fighting. All men desire the right to live and respect that everyone is after the same thing. Man, according to Locke, is governed by reason in the state of nature. Locke was influenced by the revolutionary upheaval in a different way than Hobbes. The war caused Locke to dislike violence and extremes. Stability was the central assumption of his thinking. Hobbes reasoning was derived from the assumption that man was naturally vicious or wicked, while Lockes era was more optimistic about mans nature and reasoning. Preservation of mankind is the law of nature established by Hobbes and Locke. In order to abide by this law, man enters into an agreement, forming the social contract. The social contract is a theory that views the foundation of morality being founded solely on uniform social agreements that serve the best interests of those who make the agreement. It is an agreement by which men are said to have abandoned the state of nature in order to form the society in which they now live. Hobbes believes that people surrender their natural rights and submit to the absolute authority of a sovereign, who attained power through the collective submission of the people. Even though the power of the sovereign is accumulated from the people, the sovereign has absolute power. Locke, however argued that agreement to
